Celebrities sparkel at Versace's glittering collection

Versace opens Paris Fashion Week with a glittering Spring-Summer 2012 haute couture collection, full of celebrity sparkle.

PARIS, FRANCE (JANUARY 23, 2012) (REUTERS) - Luxury Italian fashion house Atelier Versace kicked off fashion week in the French capital Paris on Monday (January 23), with models dazzling at the brand's first Couture show since 2004.
Glitter dominated at Versace, with models wearing sequinned strapless column dresses, golden studs and bodices encrusted with crystals.

American Vogue editor Anna Wintour joined actresses Cameron Diaz, Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevigny in the front row at the sparkling show.

The structure of the garments in the collection designed by Donatella Versace was much appreciated as being 'very flattering' by the actresses.

"The architectural parts, I think, it is very structured, it keeps the body in a contained way, so that I think it is probably flattering to most women," said actress Diane Kruger.

"It is beautiful, I love the architecture," said actress Cameron Diaz.
Versace also added gold details on dresses, giving a military allure, while off-the-shoulder corset-inspired pieces were a main feature.

Versace's couture renaissance was marked with bursts of colour in yellow, green and red.
"I have never been a photographer, and you know, I think it is the best part, because it goes quickly, it is creative, nobody bothers you, and it is fun, they're great all my new friends," said former model and style icon Ines de la Fressange.

Versace recently teamed up with the highstreet store H&M for a new affordable clothing line.
